ERROR MESSAGES (printer will not operate)

Problem / Symptom Description or Cause Possible Solution
Note
CHECK RIBBON Wrong type of ribbon may be
installed. Ribbon for P1XX will
not work.
Ribbon may be improperly installed.
Install proper ribbon.
Reload ribbon cartridge. Refer to
Loading Ribbon Cartridge on
page 28.
COMMAND ERROR A command error occurred. Reset the Printer, and try printing the
card again.
COVER OPEN The cover is open. Make sure that the cover is
completely and securely closed.
LID OPEN The lid is open. Make sure that the lid is completely
and securely closed.
MECHANICAL ERROR Check that you are using the correct
card type.
Check for card jam.
Check that ribbon is loaded
correctly.
See Technical Specifications on
page 71.
Open cover and remove Card
Cleaning Cartridge, empty the Card
Feeder, and remove the jammed
cards.
Refer to Loading Ribbon Cartridge
on page 28 for details.
OUT OF CARDS Check for cards in the card feeder. If no cards present, load cards; then
press the Panel Button for 1 second.
The printing job will restart.
OUT OF RIBBON Check ribbon. May be defective or
entirely used.
Load a new ribbon cartridge. Refer to
Loading Ribbon Cartridge on
page 28 for details.
PARAMETERS ERROR A parameter error occurred. Reset the Printer, and try printing the
card again.
