Corrective maintenance consists of the following:
• Troubleshooting printer faults to a modular level.
• Replacing or adjusting faulty or inoperable components.
• Returning the printer to proper operating condition.

• Long Needle Nose Pliers
• Anti-static wrist strap and mat (Portable Field Service Kit) (used for handling
electronic components)
• Isopropyl Alcohol (90% alcohol/10% de-ionized water)
• Cotton Swabs and lint free cloths
• 0.060 inch Feeler Gauge or shim
• small (4-inch) crescent wrench
• small punch

1. Turn the printer power Off (O) and disconnect the AC power cord.
2. Refer to Figure 4-4. Open the media door and remove media and ribbon from the
printer.
3. Remove the electronics cover by removing one or two screws securing the cover.
Caution • This installation must be performed by a qualified service technician.
Caution • Observe proper electrostatic safety precautions when handling any
static-sensitive components such as circuit boards and printheads.
